Logger Days sees new events, schedule
The Western News | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 8 years, 11 months AGO
A decades old summer tradition has some noted changes this year, but an organizer believes it will be just as fun as in events past.
The schedule for the 58th annual Libby Loggers Days is a little different in order to better accommodate the logistics of putting the event on, organizer Hope Kirschenmann said.
Notably, the Bull/Bullette of the Woods, the lawn mower races, and several children’s events have times that are different than in recent years.
“It’s important for people to look at the schedule,” Kirschenmann said.
Also, instead of having event competitions, the DLW Timberworks Lumberjack Show will put on three exhibitions on Saturday, June 24.
“They will be doing the same things the competitors did, but it will be an hour-long show,” Kirschenmann said.
Logger Days has been a community event for more than a half-century, with tons of forest-themed fun.
“It’s part of our heritage,” Kirschenmann said.
The event is held at J. Neil’s Memorial Park and requires a button for entry. Buttons are $7 in advance and $12 at the gate. Children under age 12 enter free of charge. Buttons can be found at several locations around town. Entry forms and other information can be found at www.loggerdays.org.
