Melisa Crone, 29, Christopher Hansen, 28, and David Vincent Toman, 20, all of Kalispell, have been charged with felony accountability to deliberate homicide in the murder last month of 35-year-old Wade Allen Rautio.

Crone also was charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs (methamphetamine).

Charges were filed in Flathead County District Court.

The charges come days after Robert Matthew Wittal, 29, was charged with felony deliberate homicide. He is accused of stabbing Rautio to death last month.

Bail has been set at $100,000 each for Crone, Hansen and Toman. Wittal is being held on $500,000 bail. All four defendants are set to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. June 30 at the Flathead County Justice Center.

All four suspects might face maximum sentences of life imprisonment or the death penalty if convicted.

According to court documents, witnesses told Flathead County sheriff’s deputies on June 13 that they saw Wittal stab Rautio multiple times, causing his death, near Echo Lake sometime between May 15 and May 31.

One witness reported watching Wittal then burn his cellphone and the clothes he was wearing at the time of the crime in a wood stove at a home on South Cedar Drive in Evergreen.

According to court documents, Hansen told officers he went with Wittal, Toman and Rautio to an area off Foothill Road in Flathead County. Toman told officers he drove Wittal, Hansen and Rautio to the Echo Lake area knowing Rautio would be assaulted.

Hansen allegedly admitted punching Rautio. Both Hansen and Toman prevented Rautio from leaving, according to court documents.

After Wittal allegedly lost his knife, Hansen gave Wittal a second knife, which Wittal then allegedly used to stab Rautio in the neck.

The body with multiple stab wounds was found Monday under a log in Brown Creek east of the Flathead Valley.

The murder is believed to be drug-related, according to investigators.
