Shadow women roll again; men fall

SPOKANE — Marissa Mykines had two assists and scored a goal in the 89th minute as the Spokane Shadow beat Fuerza FC 7-2 in a Northwest Premier League match on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.
Sarah Cox scored the first of her two goals to open the scoring two minutes into the match, connecting on a shot from 20 yards out for Spokane.
Spokane, which has outscored its opponents 54-9 this season, improve to 7-1-0, 21 points. The Shadow lead the conference standings with South Sound in second (6-0-2, 20 points).
Spokane travels to Twin City Union FC next Saturday.

SPOKANE — Kyle Witzel had two goals and an assist, leading Bellingham United past the Spokane Shadow in Evergreen Premier League play at Spokane Falls Community College.
Spokane’s Michael Mollay scored in the 25th minute on an assist from Matt Beaulaurier, but Bellingham scored three unanswered goals to put the match away.
Spokane (5-3-1, 16 points) is now tied with Bellingham (5-2-1, 16 points) for second in the conference.
Spokane is idle until July 16, when they travel to face the Seattle Stars FC.
