Man arrested for allegedly chasing women with vehicle

MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was allegedly intoxicated when he chased two women with his vehicle and crashed into a parked car in Moses Lake early Saturday morning.
About 4:10 a.m. on Saturday the Moses Lake Police Department received a report of a disturbance in the 900 block of Northwest Sunburst Court. A officer contacted two women at the scene, who said they were assaulted by Randy Melton, 28, of Moses Lake. Melton left the scene prior to officer arrival, but reportedly was contacted by police earlier in the night, at which time he was allegedly intoxicated, according to police records.
Melton allegedly chased the two victims in his vehicle and crashed into a parked car. The victims ran into a neighbor’s home and hid from the suspect. Melton reportedly attempted to find the victims and broke a door handle attempting to get into an apartment. Melton was found on South Division Street by police and arrested for second-degree assault (domestic violence), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), DUI, and hit-and-run (property damage), according to police records.
