Jeanne Bernice King passed away peacefully May 15, 2016, at Hospice House in Spokane, Wash. Jeanne was born in Lewiston, Idaho, on May 24, 1918, to Robert and Florence (Buchanan) Morgan.

She lived the majority of her childhood in Potlatch, Idaho, graduating from Potlatch High School in 1936. In 1938, she married Harold Guy King in Potlatch and was just shy of their 55th anniversary at the time of his death in 1993.

After a few years as newlyweds living in Bovill, Idaho, they resided in Moscow, Idaho, where their four children were born and raised, until Harold’s position with the Idaho Highway Department transferred them to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1964. Jeanne was a banker with First Security Bank in both Moscow and Coeur d’Alene until her retirement in her 50s.

She loved Coeur d’Alene and resided here until 2005 when she moved to an independent living senior retirement community in Spokane Valley, Wash. Two of her greatest joys were knitting (famous for her wonderful dish cloths) and reading. She was happy to have remained in independent living and being self-sufficient until her passing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; her daughter, Karen Town; son Douglas King; two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Silva (George) of Coeur d’Alene; her son, Michael King (Robin) of Mead, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two nieces; three nephews; a sister-in-law and a daughter-in-law.

At her request, there will be no service. She will be interred next to her husband in the Wall of Honor at Memorial Gardens in Coeur d’Alene.

So joyful you are reunited with all your loved ones. Rest peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord, Sweet Mom.
