Andrew Curtis Riggs-Wiedmaier, 22
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 years, 9 months AGO
Andrew Curtis Riggs-Wiedmaier was born 22 years ago on Sept. 17, 1993, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He passed away June 20, 2016, in a tragic accident.
He lived in Coeur d’Alene his whole life and graduated from Lake City High School in 2012. He worked for his father’s construction company, BMW Construction, and was currently employed by Golden Corral.
He was a very active little boy and loved climbing on things and had five broken bones by age 6. At age 7, he became involved in karate and was instructed by Steve Hirst and received his junior black belt at age 15. He started playing football in fifth grade and continued playing all through high school. He loved working out and keeping in shape. He also loved spending time with his friends playing basketball on the courts downtown. He enjoyed camping and floating the river and living life to the fullest. He was the life of the party.
He was one tough kid, but had a tender heart for his second cousins — Addison and Mclain — they called him “Drew Drew.” Little kids loved him and he had four of his own — Brantley, Boston, Tynlee and Kaisen.
He is also survived by his parents, Jon and Jolee; one brother, Tony; grandfather Jerry Riggs; uncles and aunts — Sharon, Debbie, Larry, Drew, Dave, Renee, Dick, Karen, Bev and Curt; cousins — Steve, Amanda, Michael, Corrie, Tyler, Jonathon, Michaela, Michael, Cole and Sierra; and three more second cousins — Jackson, Levi and Autumn.
He is preceded in death by grandparents Bud and Leah Wiedmaier, and Lois Riggs. He has a cross tattooed on his back in loving memory of all three, with their initials on the cross.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a memorial account for his four children that has been set up at Community 1st Bank, 435 W. Hanley Ave., Suite 100, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
