MOSES LAKE — The city of Moses Lake recently received an application to construct a third Pizza Hut in the city.

The proposed building, which includes a “call-in order pickup” drive-thru and 43 parking spaces, would be located next to the new GESA Credit Union building, 715 S. Pioneer Way. City documents indicate the restaurant will be 2,850 square feet and will have enough seating for 76 customers. The drive-thru window will be specifically for the pick-up of previously placed orders.

Chuck Henderson, of Columbia Basin Pizza Hut, Inc., was listed as the applicant for the restaurant. The application for the project was submitted on May 19 and determined to be complete by the city on May 26. No adverse environmental impacts for the project were identified, with locals given until June 15 to submit a comment on the proposal. If the proposal is approved, the new Pizza Hut would be the third in Moses Lake, with current locations at 205 S. Pioneer Way and 1035 N. Stratford Rd.

Pizza Hut has more than 6,000 restaurants in the U.S. and more than 5,139 restaurants in 94 countries and territories around the world. Pizza Hut’s parent company, Yum! Brands Inc., which includes Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut and WingStreet, is the world’s largest restaurant company with more than 37,000 locations and one million associates in more than 117 countries and territories around the world.
