ROYAL CITY — Shawn Vetterick, who’s been chasing Pete Christensen all season in the Thursday Night Men’s League at the Royal Golf Course, just about caught him in week 10.
With only two weeks left to play, Vetterick is within half a point in the player point standings.
In gross scoring, Vetterick topped Christensen 40-42. Other factors in the scoring system brought him from three points back to half a point.
It appears the winner of the league will be on of these two. Christensen leads with 68.00 player points. Vetterick has 67.50, and Bob Murphy has 58.50 in third place.
Once again, Patrick Dorsing produced the best gross score at 37. Jeremy Russell had the leading net score of 31.
Kyle Scroggins shot gross 45, and that vaulted him from seventh to fourth in the PP standings. He’s battling four other players for third place.
