Joel Smith named

to spring dean’s list

Joel Smith, a sophomore graphic design major of Sagle, was among approximately 890 Bob Jones University students named to the spring 2016 dean’s list. The dean’s list recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester.

Located in Greenville, S.C., Bob Jones University is a biblically faithful, Christian liberal arts university which provides over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs in religion, education, fine arts and communication, arts and science, and business. BJU has nearly 3,000 students from nearly every state and more than 40 countries.

Pair receives USASA scholarship awards

The USASA Foundation has awarded Andre and Dante Kemink have both received a Chuck Allen Scholarship. Andre Kemink received a scholarship of $350, and Dante Kemink received a $150 scholarship.

These awards are distributed directly to the educational/training organization of their choosing on their behalf.

Kirby earns degree at Whitworth University

Kevin Kirby graduated May 22, 2016 from Whitworth University with a major in business management.

He earned a 3.1 grade point average and played for two years on the university’s varsity tennis team.

He is currently interviewing with “The Big 4” and others to join their management consulting practices

Faude graduates from Washington and Lee

Jenna Christine Faude of Sagle received a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University on May 26. Commencement ceremonies for 444 Washington and Lee seniors were held on the University’s historic Front Lawn.

Faude majored in strategic communication.

Washington and Lee University, the nation’s ninth oldest institution of higher education, is among the nation’s premier liberal arts colleges and universities.

Logan earns dean’s list honors at George Fox

Local students were among those who earned dean’s list recognition at George Fox University for the spring 2016 semester.

Traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or above on 12 or more hours of graded work to earn a spot on the dean’s list.

Among those receiving the honor was Joab Logan of Sandpoint, a junior who is majoring in marketing.

More than 3,900 students attend classes on George Fox University’s campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem and Redmond, Ore. George Fox offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 40 majors, degree-completion programs for working adults, six seminary degrees, and 13 master’s and doctoral degrees.
