Legion baseball: Red Sox drop Twins A in opener

WHITEFISH — The Glacier Twins tied it at 4-all with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Bitterroot Red Sox followed with two more in the top of the eighth to prevail 6-4 in the first game of a Class A American Legion baseball doubleheader on Thursday evening.
Derek Kastella had a perfect outing at the plate for Glacier going 4 for 4 with singles in the second, fourth, sixth and seventh innings.
Colten Parker and A.J. Wetsch doubled for the Twins, who totaled 12 hits.
The second game was not completed by press time. Bitterroot was up 9-7 after 5 1/2 innings.

POLSON — Missoula used a four-run third inning to break a 1-1 tie and added three more runs in the bottom of the six to win the first game of a doubleheader with the Mission Valley Mariners A.
Bransen Krebs had two of the Mariners’ seven hits. Warren Wood and Nyqolas Gillingham had one RBI each for Mission Valley.
