Thomas Milo Jerrow, 66, died peacefully during an afternoon nap on Dec. 29, 2015, at his home in Hungry Horse.
Tom was born on March 17, 1949, in Great Falls to Marjery Ruegg and was adopted shortly after by Charles and Carol Jerrow of Kalispell, who proudly raised Tom as their only son.
Tom grew up in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead High School in 1967. He graduated 34th in a class of 360 graduates. He attended some college at Montana State University, before beginning a lifelong career at Columbia Falls Aluminum Company (CFAC) in 1969.
Tom married Sandra Holmquist in 1969, and together the couple had two daughters, Connie and Renae.
On July 3, 1976, Tom married Mary Jo Jackson, the woman who would become his life-partner of nearly 40 years. Together they had a son, Michael. He continued to work at CFAC through 2009, when the plant was permanently closed. He later attended Flathead Valley Community College and earned his associate’s degree in information technology in 2011.
For all of Tom’s life, he enjoyed hunting, loved fishing (no matter the weather) and grew up loving the sport of golf (a love he passed on to his son). Tom constantly thirsted for the intellectual pursuit of knowledge and felt a strong connection to a common spirituality of the world around him.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Jerrow; daughter, Connie Peters and Doug of Kalispell, with their children Brad Arlint, Anthony, Nichole and Mark Peters; daughter Renae Kraft and Marty of Kalispell, and their children Chelsea, Cassandra and Jerome Kraft and Tom’s great-granddaughter, Paisley; and by his son, Michael Jerrow and Becky of Spokane, and their children Madison and MacKenzie Jerrow.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Carol Jerrow.
Tom’s family is hosting a celebration of life from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tom’s birthday, March 17, at 1302 7th Ave. E., Kalispell. Tom’s family and friends are invited to share memories along with his favorite Irish foods and beverages at an informal, open-house style celebration.
