A Republican primary battle shapes up as the only Flathead County government election contest this year.

Pam Holmquist holds the only county commissioner seat up for election this year. She is being challenged in the June 7 Republican primary by Tim Harmon, county fairgrounds maintenance supervisor.

The winner will face Democrat Eileen Lowery in the general election.

A Montana native, Lowery is a retired director of three mental-health recovery centers in Northern California.

Amy Eddy and Dan Wilson of Kalispell are running unopposed for the two county District Court judge positions up for election.

Incumbent County Clerk of Court Peg Allison also is running unopposed.
