LETTER: Trump vs. the establishment

Hasn’t this been an exciting election year? We have three major candidates running for the presidency: Donald Trump (a businessman), Bernie Sanders (a socialist), and Hillary Clinton (an establishment Democrat).

The last I heard, the Republican turnout at the polls was about twice as many as the Democrats. The Democrats are worried. The Republican establishment is also concerned. Their top running candidate, Donald Trump, appears to be running away with the primary elections. They consider him a loose cannon, not controllable by the establishment, and are now attempting to derail his campaign. Unprecedented in my lifetime.

Neither party over the past six or seven presidential elections has made a concerted effort to secure our border with Mexico, address the trade imbalance with our trading nations, particularly Japan, China and Mexico, and our considerable national debt. The electorate is disgusted with their government, and Donald Trump arrived on the scene to address their concerns.

What’s going to happen next? Stay tuned.
