U.S. 93 safety project planned in Somers
The Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 9 years, 9 months AGO
The Montana Depart-ment of Transportation is taking comments on proposed safety improvements for a quarter-mile stretch of U.S. 93 in Somers.
Proposed work includes installing a rectangular rapid flashing beacon and upgrading the crosswalk pavement markings at the existing crosswalk in Somers. The beacon assembly will be similar to the one on U.S. 93 in Lakeside. The purpose of the project is to enhance roadway safety for the traveling public and pedestrians by providing enhanced warning of the pedestrian crossing.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in summer 2017, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.
No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
