Residents of south Lincoln County can now pick up a new station on the local FM airwaves, as the Seventh Day Adventist Church is now carrying the Christian Broadcasting Network on a newly-installed local tower.

Lee Shaw, chairman of the church’s tower committee, said the church group has been working on the tower since 2013. The work comprised nearly 1,000 man-hours of volunteer time, which included assembling the 100-foot structure in a number of pieces, then bringing them all to the construction site for final assembly and installation. The concrete and concrete work at the site, located near the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the church school, was donated by local contractor Combat Concrete.

Shaw said the church group hopes the new radio station will help bring area residents closer to God.

“We’re trying to reach out to the local community to help bring people closer to God,” he said. “To help distribute God’s word.”
