Weekend was filled with fights

Whitefish Police responded to a call about a disorderly man who was refusing to leave a Baker Avenue business. According to a caller, the “out of control” man became agitated when his drink was taken away. He was allegedly accusing others of stealing from him and trying to start fights. The man was gone by the time officers arrived.

A concerned driver called police when he noticed an elderly man standing in the median at a U.S. 93 South stoplight, telling dispatch the man seemed disoriented and had a cane. Officers found the pedestrian and confirmed that he was fine, and often walked to and from doctor’s appointments in town.

Police were called when a woman’s ex allegedly made threats against her and the couple’s son. The woman just wanted the episode documented because she said the man was in violation of their parenting plan.

A woman called to report she had been in a fight with her boyfriend, and that the man had allegedly hit her and then left her stranded. She also said she suspected he was on drugs.

Two women were arrested after a fight on Central Avenue that also resulted in a man falling and breaking an ankle.


Columbia Falls Police cited a driver for recklessness after several calls from other motorists about a swerving vehicle.

A caller on Ninth Street West called to report a group of people across the street who “look like they are on drugs.” Officers couldn’t find the suspicious trio.

A Council Bluffs Drive resident called to report two suspicious men “meandering around” the neighborhood in black trench coats. The caller was just requesting some extra patrols.

A Riverwood Lane resident called police to report a missing teenager. The caller said their 15-year-old son had failed to return home after school on Friday, and they were concerned because the young man had run away from home before.

Police were called when a disorderly woman was allegedly trying to fight other customers and refusing to leave a Nucleus Avenue business. Officers located the woman and discovered she was wanted in Washington. She was arrested.


The West Valley Fire Department responded to a burn pile on Lore Lake Road.


The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a grass fire on U.S. 93 West.


The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Rose Crossing and a burn pile on Harmony Court.


The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a burn pile on Fifth Avenue East.


The Smith Valley Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Kienas Road.
