The Lt. George Farragut Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is hosting a Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony March 29 at the KROC Center at 11 a.m. The ceremony will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and honor Vietnam veterans.

“We are excited about this opportunity to honor our veterans and give our thanks for all who served and sacrificed,” Luella Stilley, Lt. George Farragut Chapter regent, said in a press release.

The U.S. Department of Defense is conducting a three-year commemoration of the Vietnam War and invited all non-governmental organizations to join it. This is its third year. The DAR will join almost 9,000 other organizations to honor Vietnam veterans.

The DAR is a "women's service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism," said the press release.

The event was originally scheduled to be at the Veterans Memorial Plaza but has been moved to the KROC Center due to weather concerns.

The Kroc is located at 1765 W. Golf Course Road. All are welcome and the event is free. For more information, visit vietnamwar50th.com.
