A sex offender admitted in Flathead District Court on Tuesday to violating terms of probation and parole by being involved in a Bigfork burglary spree.

Deven Michael Broad, 22, entered an Alford plea to one count of felony burglary before Flathead District Judge Amy Eddy. An Alford plea does not admit explicit guilt, but acknowledges that there is enough evidence that the defendant is likely to be found guilty at trial.

The plea was entered as part of a deal where another count of felony burglary was committed.

According to court documents, Broad was one of four people who participated in a burglary spree on Oct. 26 targeting the Creston Business Center, a Kalispell automotive repair business and an Egan Slough home.

“All the co-defendants have pleaded and it has been agreed that all restitution will be paid jointly,” prosecutor Andrew Clegg said of the burglary case.

Broad was also found guilty violating probation requirements that were part of a suspended sentence for sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl in 2011.

He admitted violating parole by drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana, in addition to his involvement with the burglary.

Broad is classified as a Level 2 sex offender, which means he is at moderate risk to re-offend.

Sentencing was set for June.
