Each year thousands of potentially lethal traps are set on Montana’s public lands. If your dog got caught in a trap, would you know how to rescue it?

Learn how at a Trap Release/Pet Rescue Workshop at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at the Bigfork Senior Center, 639 Commerce St.

Trapping season is on and the number of pets injured or killed in popular recreation areas point out how important it is to be aware of traps. Learn how to act quickly and potentially save your pet’s life.

The workshop is sponsored by Footloose Montana, a nonprofit group educating people about traps on public lands.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a can of food for the food bank or animal shelter.
