Supports school levy

I wanted to express my support for the school building reserve levy in the May 3 voter election. As we have learned, changes in state law now require Whitefish to have a building reserve levy in place in order for us to use our TIF funds for building projects. Approval of a new levy will then allow us to use the City’s TIF funds to reduce future property tax levies.

Whitefish is such a wonderful community to raise children in. To have built the amazing school facilities we have is such a great community achievement and we need to maintain our investments. Keeping up with technology advancements is expensive, but it is so important to prepare our students with the skills to thrive.

The Whitefish community has always shown initiative in supporting our schools and offering our children a bright future. Funding education is important to me. Creating the resources to be able to maintain our facilities is a small price to pay for what it means to the future of our children.

I would like to urge School District 44 voters to vote for Ruth Harrison for the Whitefish School Board. Ruth has been serving on the school board and has the experience of how the process works. It would be a shame to waste the experience by not re-electing her.
