Columbia Falls swimmer Colton Babcock did well at the 2016 Northwest Speedo Senior Sectional Championships in Federal Way, Washington, recently.

Babcock, swimming for the Wave Ryders, took 16th in the 100 freestyle and made the futures cut in the 100 breastsroke.

Babcock’s time in the 100 free broke the state record in the event, previously held by Trent Hartl of Billings back in 1993.

By making the futures cut in both the 100 free and the 100 breast stroke, Babcock can now compete in one of four meets offered August 4-7 in California, Texas, Georgia or Maryland.
