QUINCY — An April 18 crash involving three automobiles on Highway 28 just west of Quincy took the life of Rigoberto H. Tejeda, 59, of Quincy.

Tejeda was a passenger in a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Paula Romero Sanchez, 50, of Quincy. Sanchez was injured and transported by ambulance to Quincy Valley Medical Center.

According to the Washington State Patrol, driver and passenger were wearing seat belts. Totaled, the car was removed by Quincy Towing.

The crash occurred at about 10 p.m., the WSP reported. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved.

The State Patrol said the crash occurred after the eastbound Pacific crossed the center line and struck a westbound pickup and then a second westbound pickup.

Sanchez Romero was released from Quincy Valley Medical Center and subsequently booked into the Grant County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide, according to WSP spokesman John Bryant. Drugs and/or alcohol reportedly played a role in the accident.

The driver of the first pickup was Christian Juarez Rodriguez, 22, of East Wenatchee. He was using proper restraints, and he was injured. His 2015 GMC 2500 was totaled and was removed by George Towing.

Not injured was William P. Wirth, 51, of East Wenatchee. He used proper safety restrains. His 2014 Ford F350 sustained reportable damage and was impounded by Randy’s Towing.

Llesania Mejia Mora, 26, of Wenatchee, a passenger in the GMC, was injured. She was taken by ambulance to QVMC. She was wearing a proper safety restraint.

Another GMC passenger, Ivan Juarez Mejia, 6, was not injured. He was in a proper safety restraint.
