The city of Whitefish is looking to fill positions on several volunteer boards.

The impact fee advisory committee has three positions open for two-year terms. The openings are for a person from the development community, a Certified Public Accountant and a member-at-large. Applicants must either live or work within the Whitefish zoning jurisdiction. The committee meets once a year.

The resort tax monitoring committee has one position open for a three-year term. The potion expiring this year is a retail member. Applicants can be an owner, operator or representative of a retail business in the city limits.

The planned unit development re-write steering committee has five positions open. One for a member of the Whitefish development community, two to four positions for either a Whitefish resident or property owner within the city’s boundaries or within one-half mile of the boundaries. The committee will meet no less than bi-weekly and will disband no later than August 2018.

The Wisconsin Avenue corridor plan steering committee has eight positions open. One for a business owner in the corridor representing resort or recreation interests, one business owner representing commercial or retail interests, one business owner representing professional interests, two residential owner-occupied property owners, one residential investment or multi-family property owner, and two “at-large” Whitefish residents. The committee shall meet as often as necessary, and shall be disbanded as of June 1, 2017 or earlier.

Those interested in applying to serve on the committee should submit a letter of interest to the Whitefish City Clerk’s Office at 1005 Baker Avenue or mail to P.O. Box 158, Whitefish, MT 59937, by Friday, May 6. Interviews will be May 16 as needed. Thereafter, if vacancies still exist, letters of interest will be accepted until the positions are filled.
