Peggy Martin, 82, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Thursday, April 28, 2016.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Dale Coffelt will be officiating with burial following in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Peggy was born on Jan. 27, 1934, in Colbert, Wash., the daughter of William and Clara Shuster. She was home schooled while living in Wilbur, Wash.; Myrtle Point, Ore.; and Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She attended high school in Newport, Wash., and married Melvin Glenn Martin on June 4, 1949, in Newport, Wash. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2010.

A longtime resident, Peggy worked as a waitress and hostess at the Sand-point Café, Connie’s, Travel-ers, and the Edgewater. She also worked for Safeway’s in the meat department for many years.

She enjoyed traveling in the family fifth-wheel, being outdoors where she could hunt, fish, gather mushrooms and pick huckleberries. She served as a Cub Scout den mother.

Peggy is survived by her three children, Allen Martin in Colville, Wash., Dale Martin in Hayden, Idaho, and Jack Martin in Sandpoint; her grandchildren, Colleen, Debbie, Stephanie, Kayla, Bryan, and Keenan; five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Judy Clark in Oldtown, Idaho, Jeanne Hill in Portland, Ore.; two special lifetime friends, Rosa Buck in Spokane, Wash., and Gloria Moran in Sandpoint.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Ray Sitton; and three brothers and five sisters.
