POST FALLS — A 52-year-old woman allegedly attempted to elude police by vehicle and then on foot Tuesday after nearly striking a patrol car in Post Falls, according to police.

Pamela Denise Pringle, of Woodland, Calif., was wanted for felony parole violation and was arrested after being ordered to the ground by an officer who chased her on foot.

"She started to run but only made it about 25 yards when she was arrested," Post Falls Police Capt. Greg McLean said.

The officer and a white Volvo were stopped at the intersection of Seltice Way and Idaho Street at 1:49 p.m. and making a left turn onto Idaho. Pringle then allegedly drifted into the officer's lane, nearly striking the front end of the patrol car, according to police.

Pringle was pulled over as a result and parked in the Super 1 Foods parking lot. Pringle told the officer she did not have her driver's license and verbally provided her name.

When the officer returned to his patrol car to check on her driving status through the crime system, Pringle allegedly drove off, pulled into a property in the 900 block of East Mullan Avenue and took off running, the police report states.

As the officer chased Pringle, she was warned that if she did not stop, a stun gun would be used, the report states. She then complied and was arrested without further incident.

Pringle was charged with eluding and booked into jail on the warrant.

She was booked into the local jail three previous times from 2009 to 2012, including for charges of forgery, grand theft and probation violation.
