All-day open house planned on Tuesday

An open house is planned for the Flathead High School student-built house at 663 Corporate Drive, Kalispell, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10.

Over the course of the school year, about 35 students in House Construction 1 and 2 classes had a hand in building the two-story, 1,875-square foot house that features three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Hammerquist Casalegno General Contractors served as the lead construction manager.

“From excavation to electrical to sheet rock, students touched every facet of construction,” Flathead industrial arts teacher Brock Anderson said.

The house is listed at $309,000 by broker associate Jeff Wilson of Properties Northwest Real Estate.

Western Building Centers, Flathead Building Association, Flathead Electric Cooperative and Glacier Bank worked with the Flathead construction program to make the student-built house a reality.

Anderson said plans are in the works to build another home in the Westwood Park subdivision.
