TENNIS ROUNDUP: Columbia Falls' Getts stays undefeated; Whitefish drops Hamilton

COLUMBIA FALLS — Emily Getts cruised to 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles in leading Columbia Falls to a 6-1 dual win over Hamilton on Saturday in Class A tennis play.

Getts is now 9-0 on the season.

“She’s playing really good tennis,” Columbia Falls coach Gene Marcille said.

“She’s got a good couple of weeks coming up (divisionals and state).”

Molly Schmit also won by 6-0, 6-0 scores at No. 2 singles.

Hamilton dropped Columbia Falls in the boys dual, 6-1.

Columbia Falls ends regular-season play at Polson on Thursday.

Whitefish 5, Hamilton 2

WHITEFISH — Whitefish coach Chris Schwaderer altered his lineup and the results still favored the Bulldogs in a Class A boys dual with Hamilton.

“We tried some players in different spots, mixed things up a little bit,” he said.

“They responded well.”

No results were available from the Whitefish-Hamilton girls dual.

Whitefish hosts Polson on Friday and concludes regular-season play Saturday at Stevensville and Corvallis.

Butte Central, Stevensville versus Polson

POLSON — Polson coach Bob Hislop juggled his lineup — putting singles players in doubles and some doubles players in singles — and it still produced a sweep for the Pirates.

Polson’s boys beat Stevensville and Butte Central by 7-0, 7-0 scores.

The Polson girls edge Butte Central 4-3, but blanked Stevensville 7-0.

Polson ends regular-season action with a home match on Thursday with Columbia Falls and Friday at Whitefish.
