A. Marie Burnside, 74
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 8 years, 8 months AGO
A. Marie Burnside was born in Palacious, Texas, on March 27, 1942.
She lost her brave battle with cancer on April 23, 2016. She “went to be in the loving arms of her husband, Ray,” surrounded by her family. Their lives followed the same path, each raised on a family farm, and that is where the two first met. They were married in the fall of 1958.
She loved being surrounded by family and friends. The kitchen was her visiting spot—the wonderful food, the many laughs and talk of memories back when. She loved playing games, being in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping, especially while sitting by a warm campfire. Ray and Marie got to see many beautiful places in their travels as they followed his work. She was a very caring person and would always tend to those in need. She would think of others more than herself.
She is survived by daughter, Billie Schmalz, and son, Glen Burnside, both of Kalispell; sister Elizabeth A. Butcher, of Colorado; granddaughter Sadie M. Burnside; grandson H. Shawn Moore; great-grandson Christopher S. Moore and many other relatives.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Ray W. Burnside, in July 2012; grandson Christopher J. Schmalz, in January 2006; brother Jesse Rodriguez, of Pennsylvania, in 2013; mother Mary Cole, of Thompson Falls, in 2009 and father Jesse Rodriguez, of Texas.
She will be dearly missed.
