Bigfork defeats Troy tennis

The Vikings and Valkyries of Bigfork traveled to Troy Saturday and defeated both the boys and girls teams from Troy.

On the girls’ side of the nets, Bigfork defeated all three Troy players to take the 3-0 win.

Alauna Weilacher beat Allie Brown 6-2, 6-1; Wilson Vogt defeated Kaylee Stecher, 6-0, 6-3 and Xiao Xiao Strong beat Molly Walters, 6-3, 6-4.

The Trojan boys fared a bit better, suffering a 5-1 loss.

Alex Ruenz knocked off Ben Haggerty, 7-5, 6-2; Michael Bedford beat Liam Hennsley, 6-1, 6-3 and Grant Gibson defeated Cy Winslow, 6-3, 6-3. Troy’s only win was delivered by Alex Freund, who took down Noah VanQueckelberg, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles play, AJ Faur and Noah Cabellero fell to George Gibson and Ben Russell, 6-2, 6-0 and Colten Reichenbech and Clayton Reichenbech beat Cody Osterberg and Dylan Cummings 6-7(7-1), 6-2.
