More than 400 Libby children turned out for Opening Day Saturday, as the Little Leaguers officially opened the 2016 Libby Youth Baseball and Softball Association season.

The festivities began at 10 a.m. with the annual Little League parade from the Libby Memorial Events Center parking lot  down the gut to the bottom of Mineral Avenue. From there the kids loaded up and were driven to the recently remodeled Little League fields for a full day of games, food and family fun.

This year’s crop of kids make up 35 teams and represents one of the largest leagues Libby has seen in recent years.
