Arvilla “went to be with the Lord” on May 7, 2016, at the age of 92. She passed away peacefully in her home with her family.

Arvilla was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, on Dec. 19, 1923, to John and Elizabeth Cain, and grew up in Drake, North Dakota, with her sister Videlle.

While living in Minot, North Dakota, Arvilla met Harold Hahn, and shortly after they married on Sept. 23, 1941; they were married 62 years. In 1942 they moved to California for work. Not long after, Harold was drafted into the Air Force. While he was deployed, his plane was shot down and he became a prisoner of war in Germany. At the end of World War II, Arvilla and Harold were reunited after Arvilla had been told he was missing in action.

In 1953 their first son, Paul, was born. Three years later their second son, Michael, was born.

In 1976, Harold and Arvilla moved to Kalispell with their sons and daughter-in-law.

Arvilla loved to spend time with her family, whether it was camping, fishing, hunting or gardening. She loved Jesus and her family deeply, and made a lasting impact on this world by the love she gave to those around her. She was a fantastic cook and seamstress. Even at the age of 92, she had an amazing sense of humor and wit. She leaves an irreplaceable hole in the hearts of those left behind.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Cain; her husband, Harold; sister, Videlle Petersen, and grandson, James Daryl Hahn.

She is survived by her son, Paul and his wife Ann; son Michael; grandchildren, Alan Hahn, Sarah LaCoursiere, Suzanne Short, Rebekah Wargo and Michelle Fetveit; and great-grandchildren, James Michael Hahn, Layton Hahn, Logan Holder, Rylie Short, Grace Wargo and Gianluca Cappalonga.

Please join us in a memorial celebration remembering her life starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at the Evergreen Fire Hall. There will be food and beverages served and potluck items will be welcomed.
