Milburn James 'Judd' Kenworthy, 85

Milburn J. “Judd” Kenworthy passed away peacefully on May 9, 2016, at The Garden in Coeur d’Alene. His wife of 57 years, Bethine, was at his side.

Judd was born in Moscow, Idaho, on June 22, 1930. He attended St. Mary’s School, graduated from Moscow High School in 1948, and the University of Idaho in 1953. Having a lifetime love of airplanes, Judd served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot from 1953-1956. From 1956-1984, Judd owned the Theatres in Pullman, Wash., along with the Kenworthy and NuArt Theatres in Moscow. Upon his retirement in 1984, Judd enjoyed time in Hawaii, Arizona and traveling. Judd was a member of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, Delta Chi Fraternity and the 317th Troop Carrier Wing — USAF.

He is survived by his wife, Bethine, whom he married in Carmel, Calif., on Dec. 27, 1958; their two children, Kimberly Kenworthy Manaut of Coeur d’Alene and M. Brian Kenworthy of Kirkland, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Debby; and three grandsons Ryan Kenworthy Manaut of Honolulu, Hawaii, M. Cole Kenworthy and M. Austin Kenworthy, both of Kirkland.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following: The Kenworthy Performance Arts Centre (Kenworthy.org) or St. Mary’s School (stmarysmoscow.com) in Moscow or the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).

No services will be held. Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
