OPINION: Letter writer says he'll stick with freedom of speech and decline sharia

Responding to “It’s wrong to run letters that question Islamic minority,” by Arsalan Bukhari, in the May 1 Daily Inter Lake, I have to first say it’s NOT wrong to question the Islamic minority. It’s not wrong to question anything, so therefore, saying it’s wrong to question the Islamic minority does nothing but set Islam up in a special class that demands nothing but blind obedience to whatever it says, which is exactly what Muhammed and all sharia jihadists do.

Here in the United States, newspaper editors publish op-eds from anyone, and Islamists want to silence certain people. In America we have this thing called freedom of speech, and our freedom to speak our minds trumps sharia law.

It’s been amply proven that fundamental Islam seeks only to convert the world to Islam, using tactics up to and including lying and killing “infidels.” That means that fundamental Islam is anything but peaceful, and any wanna-be Muslim who tries to tell us otherwise is either ignorant or a liar. In either case, not a true Muslim.

Bukhari identifies as a “practicing” Muslim. In my mind, this means only that Bukhari is either lying, or not a true Muslim. If there exists a minority of Muslims who actually recognize the U.S. Constitution as being superior to sharia, no problem, but anytime any of you raise a squawk, you only identify yourself as another Muslim whiner who doesn’t like American free speech.

I’m the one who wrote the op-ed that Bukhari calls inflamatory, and that was exactly the intention — to draw Muslims like Bukhari out of the woodwork. As long as you obey our American Constitution and our laws about freedom of religion, you’re free to live here, but just keep out of our face with your Islamic rants. You only make us suspect you all the more.

Arsalan Bukhari is accredited as executive director of the Washington state branch of the Council on American Islamic Relations. How impressive to have such a title under this Islamic sympathizing administration. You may live here at our graciousness, but not if you try to limit our freedoms. But remember, you’re not a true Muslim if you’re truly peaceful toward non-Muslims. That’s already been proven.

Furthermore, it seems that the publicly stated op-eds of us local Montanans are getting a wider audience than merely little ol’ Kalispell, and it’s a safe bet this op-ed will get to Bukhari as well. As far as I’m concerned, Bukhari is anti-American, and I stand by that opinion. We have free speech in America. Washington is pretty liberal, and Montana may be starting to trend that way, but we still have a thing called states’ rights, and we still have our Second Amendment rights, which is critical in defending ourselves.

Arsalan Bukhari, when you succeed in stopping ISIS and al-Qaida, we might listen to you and your minority, but for now, your minority appears to speak for the Islamic majority. Killers. This is America, and we Americans have found that our usurper president will do as little as possible to protect us from ISIS, and so we have to defend ourselves, and we have the right to use the pen before it becomes necessary to use the gun.

Arsalan Bukhari, if you want to report me to Barack Obama, I’ve already beaten you to the punch. Most of us already know what a fraud he is. Happy reading, Arsalan.

'The Trump effect' is in the eye of the beholder

As evidenced by “The Trump Effect” op-ed in the April 15 Daily Inter Lake, the hypocrisy of the anti-Trumpers is getting almost too comical to describe. As usual, the Alinsky tactics are on full display, accusing the target with no regard for truth, and most assuredly blaming the target for the same things the writer does. Donald Trump is portrayed as “...the vindictive and impulsive demagogue posing as the 45th president...” Later on, Trump is called “...a man so insecure that he has made as one of his primary objectives the denigration — or total obliteration — of the legacy of his predecessor...”, Trump’s predecessor being Barack Obama. I don’t make the charge of hypocrisy lightly, but if Donald Trump is some kind of demagogue, he doesn’t hold a candle to Barack Obama, hence my use of the term.

Build the wall - and start before the midterms

There, in bold letters at the top of the front page of my newspaper, it says, “In reversal, Trump orders halt to his family separation rule” (AP).

Not just gays, but all, are sinners

This is a response to the Aug 19, 2018, Daily Inter Lake opinion pages, ‘In defense of LGBTQ+’, pages C7 & C8, and an article from a gay ex-minister on page C9. All of the letters were in support of the LGBTQ+ community, and addressed an earlier op-ed by Tim Adams.
