The city of Kalispell will look to update its zoning ordinance tonight.
The Kalispell City Council will revisit 14 of the 15 zoning amendments recommended by the city Planning Board.
The amendment regarding short-term rentals was separated from the list two weeks ago for further study.
The amendments facing the council tonight include increasing the maximum building heights in certain zones, reducing the amount of off-street parking in the newly created B-3 zone in the Core Area and clarifying language in the zoning ordinance regarding casinos.
The entire list is posted under the city council agenda at www.Kalispell.com.
This will be the first reading of the amendments.
THE council also will hold a public hearing on a grant request from Flathead County officials.
The county is applying for a Community Development Block Grant for $176,250 for public facilities grant. Last November, the county completed a Americans with Disabilities Act evaluation that determined the Flathead County Fairgrounds require improvements to public accessibility and safety.
The report completed by Solus Architecture addressed two restrooms, the grandstand entrance and food court as the highest priorities in need of improvements.
The county is asking that the city sponsor the grant application before its July 6 due date.
The meeting begins tonight at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 201 First Ave. E.
