Charles 'Chuck' Conrad, 82

Charles “Chuck” Conrad, 82, was born Dec. 8, 1933, in Kalispell, to Werner and Helen Hansen Conrad. Chuck passed away in the embrace of his loving family on May 16, 2016 in Kalispell. Chuck was a lifelong resident of the Flathead Valley. He suffered with congenital heart disease.
Chuck attended schools in Marion and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1953. After graduation, Chuck worked in a logging camp before serving in the U.S. Army. Chuck’s working career involved 33 years at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant, where everyone knew him as “Charlie.” He retired as the paste plant foreman in July 1990.
Chuck enjoyed working on his farm in the Helena Flats area, outdoor activities, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, and especially spending time with his family. He was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Kalispell.
Chuck is survived by Loretta, his devoted wife of 54 years; sons, Wade (Star) of Portland, and Todd (Bobbie) of Kalispell; daughter-in-law, Kari Conrad Mocabbe (Ty) of Kalispell; sister, Cherie (Ed) Ellingson of Amity, Oregon; grandchildren, Jessie, Karley, Victoria, Christian, Amber and Alyssa; sister-in-law Janice Knapton (Doug) of Columbia Falls; and brother-in-law Lynn Everett (Virginia) of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and son Joel.
Memorials or donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
