Ken and Kathy Gonser

60th Anniversary

Ken and Kathy were married on June 2, 1956, in Coeur d’Alene.

An open house for family and friends will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at their home of 50 years in Hayden Lake. Hosts are their children, Jim (Tana) Gonser, Lora (Tim) Henderson and Kara (David) Craner.

Ken and Kathy have three children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

EDUCATION

Elena Johnson, an Earlham College junior and daughter of Sholeh Patrick of Hayden and Keith Johnson of Missouri City, Texas, received the Clifford Crump Phi Beta Kappa Award during Earlham’s Awards Convocation on April 27, 2016, in Goddard Auditorium.

Johnson is a 2014 graduate of Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy.

Katy Hassler graduated with Honors from College of Western Idaho in Boise for Intermediate Surgical Technical Certificate on May 7, 2016. Her future job will be in Labor & Delivery at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise.

Jennifer Ruth Brooks, the daughter of Kenneth and Jana Brooks of Coeur d’Alene, graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., during the college’s commencement exercises on May 14, 2016. Brooks received a liberal arts degree in international studies and history. Brooks is a graduate of Lake City High School.

In addition, Brooks received the following honors/awards:

• Honors project: Marriage, Legitimacy, and Intersectional Identities in the Sixteenth-Century Spanish Empire

• History: Ernesto Capello, adviser

• Phi Beta Kappa

• Magna cum laude
