Wildlife call will quack you up

A resident on Velva Drive called the Kalispell Police Department to report a duck in her yard. The caller said the duck was wet, dirty and possibly domesticated. She requested that officers come check on the animal.
A caller told police that there was a man in a parking lot on Hutton Ranch Road “casing vehicles.” The man was allegedly being very obvious about stopping and looking into several vehicles parked in the lot. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Someone found a purse at the bottom of a stairwell on Village Loop and turned it in to police.
A Parkway Drive resident called to report their camper had been stolen.
Officers responded to a fight at a business on First Avenue West. No medical attention was needed and no arrests were made.
Officers cited a man who allegedly stole beer from a business on First Avenue East North.
A caller on U.S. 2 West told police someone had cut the cable locks off several bikes and stole them off the rack.
A man was arrested after reportedly throwing a trash can through the window of a business on East Idaho Street.
Officers responded to Woodland Park Drive when a driver hit a guide wire on a power pole. There was no damage to the pole or the power lines.
A driver called to report a tree was down and blocking the road at College Avenue and Conrad Drive. The tree was removed.
An employee of a business on Third Avenue East North called police to pick up a lost wallet and checkbook that had gone unclaimed.
A woman called the Whitefish Police Department to report a suspicious vehicle on East Second Street. The caller said a man was sitting in a parked van, and when the caller’s daughter walked by the man started the vehicle. Upon seeing the caller, the woman said, the man turned off the vehicle and pretended to be reading a newspaper. The woman thought that was suspicious behavior and requested extra patrols in the area.
Officers pursued a loose dog running across the road on U.S. 93 South, but were unable to catch it.
A man called the Columbia Falls Police Department when another man started following him and trying to start a fight. The caller said he was on his way to a job interview when the other man began the harassment. The man eventually left the area without incident, and the caller told police he’d be filing paperwork to get a restraining order.
The Kalispell Fire Department and South Kalispell Fire Department responded to two different reports of power line emergencies, one on Seventh Avenue East and the other on Woodland Park Drive.
