All state, conference soccer

Columbia Falls has several all-state and all-conference selections in soccer.

On the boys side, Brandon Karberg, Logan Stephens and Paxton Fisher were named all-state. First team all-conference included those three and Auguste Emond. Second team all-conference were Alex Garate, Jakob Grein and Chance Adams.

On the girls side, Hannah Gedlaman was all-state and first team all-conference; Kendra King was first team all-conference. Second team all-conference were Kaylee Ashe and Kyla Johnston.

A bill requiring the state to electronically verify that all foreign nationals are in the U.S. legally before issuing a Montana driver’s license or ID card was signed into law by Gov. Brian Schweitzer on April 18.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
