Mitchell, Kaufman, Jurgens, Cheevers honored on state volleyball all-tourney teams

Lake City sophomores Klaire Mitchell (setter) and Ashley Kaufman (outside hitter) were named to the state 5A volleyball all-tournament team.

Timberlake landed two seniors — Courtney Jurgens and Glori Cheevers — on the 3A all-tourney team.

The all-tournament teams are compiled by The Press, following a poll of coaches whose teams participated at state last weekend.

Maya Taylor of Idaho Falls, a 5A first-team selection each of the past three seasons, was named to the 4A team this year. Teammate Maddy Reeb, a first-team 5A pick last year, made the 4A squad this year.

Kiley McMurtrey of Bonneville and Brooke Foster of Timberline were second-team 5A picks last year.

Dani Nay of state 4A champion Skyview, and Kennedi Evans of Twin Falls made the 4A first team last year.

Savanah Crane of state 3A champion Sugar-Salem was a 3A second-team selection last year.
