A caller told the Whitefish Police Department that there was a man skateboarding on Skyles Place who allegedly had “a baby strapped to him.” The caller was concerned for the safety of the child because the man was allegedly going very fast. Officers were unable to locate the skateboarding duo.

A woman called police for help after she and her daughter arrived in town and were having trouble contacting a man she said was helping them with a “rent-to-own” housing program. After various attempts to contact the man, the woman told police she was worried she had been the victim of a scam.

A vehicle was reportedly damaged overnight between the train station and Depot Park. Officers took a report.

A Baker Avenue resident called to report two vehicles parked illegally on the property. Officers advised the owner about options.

A Columbia Avenue resident reported that someone was tapping on her windows and running away. She said her husband had seen someone running away the first time it happened. She said all the house’s doors and windows were locked and they couldn’t see any suspicious vehicles. Officers were unable to locate a suspect, but performed extra patrols in the area.

A River Lakes Parkway resident called police to report someone upstairs in her house. The caller said she was hearing noises upstairs “that she doesn’t normally hear” that sounded like someone walking. She also told police she thought she’d heard an explosion earlier, followed by someone knocking at the door who then said they had the wrong house. Officers checked the entire house and found nothing suspicious and no other people inside.

A caller complained about dogs barking on Houston Point Drive. Officers spoke to the owner, who took the dogs inside.

A Seventh Street West resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a suspicious man allegedly riding around on a bike trying to speak with children in the area. The caller just wanted to alert police and requested extra patrols in the area.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on U.S. 2 West, and reports of a burn pile on Golf Course Drive.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of power lines emergency on Third Avenue West, and reports of a motor vehicle fire on East Center Street.
