Prep roundup: Moses Lake relay teams all-league

Moses Lake girls swim and dive had two relay teams earn all-league honors.

The 200-yard medley and freestyle relay teams comprised of Ashley Madrishin, ShyAnne Speed, Anna Fair and Cora Dana made honorable mention and second team, respectively.

Fair added honorable mention in the 100-yard backstroke. Dana was honorable mention and second team in the 50 and 100 freestyle, respectively.

Moses Lake’s Tony St. Onge was co-Coach of the Year with Wenatchee’s James Elwyn.

Ali Pierce, of Eastmont, was Diver of the Year. Wenatchee’s Jessica Wierzbicki and Isabelle Dressel were co-Swimmer of the Year.

Moses Lake will compete in the state meet Friday and Saturday in Federal Way.

5 Huskies all-league volleyball

Othello volleyball was rewarded for a strong season with five all-league selections and coach Steve Parris receiving co-Coach of the Year honors.

Libero Allison Garza was the Huskies’ lone first-teamer. Tanaya Andersen, Heidi Martinez and Cayleen Garza made the second team. Setter Macy Hampton was honorable mention.

Ephrata, who made the first round of the district tournament, had two selections: Haily Miller (second team) and Kiana Miller (honorable mention).

Quincy outside hitter Natalie Thomsen made second team.

Ellensburg outside hitter Tia Andaya and Selah outside hitter Maddy Quigley were co-Player of the Year.

Moses Lake takes ninth at home invite

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake girls bowling finished ninth out of 20 teams at this year’s Moses Lake Invite.

It was the largest group of teams in the event’s history said first-year head coach Carolyn Johnson.

“It was an amazing turn out,” she said. “The girls had so much fun.”

Eastmont won the invite in a field that featured every team in the Columbia Basin Big Nine.

Moses Lake’s first match is against the Wildcats on Nov. 15.
