n Don’t miss the Warren Miller Show — Join your “Winter friends” this Saturday at the Panida Theater for the showing of “Here, There and Everywhere,” celebrating why skiers and snowboarders commit themselves every winter to a passion that’s guaranteed to melt away every spring.
Follow the world’s biggest names in skiing and snowboarding on a breathtaking cinematic journey to Eastern Greenland, Switzerland, Cordova, Alaska, Western Montana’s glacier country, Deer Valley, Squaw Valley, Fenway Park (yes, that one) and British Columbia. This year Warren Miller returns to do some of the narrating, and truly takes us here, there and everywhere.
There’s only one show and we always sell out. Get to the Alpine Shop now to pick up your tickets, or buy them online at www.panida.org. And bring your wallet (Mastercard and Visa accepted) to the show, because we’ll once again have the Great Outdoors Raffle plus a great auction up front.
n Ski Swap this weekend — SARS will be hosting the annual Ski Swap on Nov. 12 featuring thousands of new and used skis, snowboards and boots. Additionally, they will have a huge variety of used and new winter clothing.
Here’s how it works: On Friday, Nov. 11, drop off your sales items from noon to 7 p.m. at the Bonner County Fairgrounds. On Saturday, Nov. 12, shop for all your Winter recreational needs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Then at 5 p.m. come back by the Fairgrounds to pick up a check for items sold and retrieve those that didn’t sell.
Contact SARS at 263-1081 for additional information.
n Junior Race Series sign-up — Fliers for the January Independence Junior Race Series are at the local ski shops and will be available at the Ski Swap and the Warren Miller Show. This popular series features free coaching, lots of prizes, lots of kids and lots of fun. There’s been no change in the cost for 16 years. Racers meet four Friday evenings in January from 5:30-7 p.m.
No excuses, come join the fun. Applications are already coming in, so you better register now. Forms can also be downloaded at www.independenceracing.com.
