A man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after he allegedly threatened a man with a gun on Nov. 4.

Tyler Wayne Stap, 30, has been charged with felony assault with a weapon and misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to court documents, a man reported that Stap had threatened him with a gun at a residence in Marion. The man said that Stap allegedly had stopped at his residence, brandished a .38 caliber pistol and threatened to shoot him over an allegedly stolen air compressor. The victim said he believed Stap was going to kill him and that Stap appeared to be intoxicated. The victim said that Stap allegedly broke the window of the back door when he left.

Officers located Stap in a vechicle driving in the vicinity of the Hilltop Bar. He allegedly appeared very intoxicated, refused to provide a breath sample, then admitted to consuming alcohol before driving.

Stap was bleeding, consistent with possibly breaking out a window, officers noted. He would not tell officers what had caused his injuries. Stap allegedly admitted to confronting the victim about the air compressor, but denied threatening him with a gun. A loaded .38 caliber revolver was found on Stap, court documents say.

Bail in the case is set at $25,000. Stap will be arraigned Nov. 23.
