Voters have their final say

EPHRATA — With nearly all the ballots counted county-wide, the results from the general election are all but set in stone.

The Grant County Auditor's Office reports there are currently 50 ballots left to be counted and the next scheduled ballot count is Nov. 29, which is the same day the results are set to be certified. There were 39,319 registered voters in the county and 29,686 ballots counted, a 75.5 percent voter turnout.

Local results from the election are as follows:

Fourth Congressional District:

  • Grant County:
    • Dan Newhouse, 15,609 votes, 58.4 percent
    • Clint Didier, 11,118 votes, 41.6 percent
  • District:
    • Dan Newhouse, 121,256, 57.37 percent
    • Clint Didier, 90,091 votes, 42.63 percent

12th Legislative District Senator:

  • Grant County:
    • Brad Hawkins, 1,716 votes, 64.58 percent
    • Jon Wyss, 941 votes, 35.42 percent
  • District:
    • Brad Hawkins, 24,123 votes, 55.73 percent
    • Jon Wyss, 19,160 votes/44.27 percent.

13th Legislative Position No. 1:

  • Grant County:
    • Cary Condotta, 2,012, 69.98 percent
    • Dan Maher, 863 votes, 30.02 percent
  • District:
    • Cary Condotta, 28,991 votes, 63.37 percent
    • Dan Maher, 16,759 votes, 36.63 percent

12th Legislative District Position No. 2:

  • Grant County:
    • Mike Steele, 1,668 votes, 68.25 percent
    • Jerry Paine, 776 votes, 31.75 percent
  • District:
    • Mike Steele, 23,855 votes, 59.9 percent
    • Jerry Paine, 15,969 votes, 40.1 percent

13th Legislative District Position No. 2:

  • Grant County:
    • Matt Manweller, 17,763 votes, 73.43 percent
    • Jordan Webb, 6,427 votes, 26.57 percent
  • District:
    • Matt Manweller, 34,686 votes, 70.93 percent
    • Jordan Webb, 14,213 votes, 29.07 percent

Grant County Commissioner No. 1:

  • Richard Stevens, 14,375 votes, 62.3 percent
  • Robert J. Dove, 8,699 votes, 37.7 percent

Grant County Commissioner No. 2:

  • Tom Taylor, 16,302 votes, 68.99 percent
  • Nathan Pack, 7,328 votes, 31.01 percent

Grant County Superior Court Judge No. 1:

  • David Estudillo, 13,817 votes, 51.6 percent
  • Nick Wallace, 12,959, 48.4 percent

Grant County Hospital District No. 2 Proposition No. 1:

  • Yes, 1,599 votes, 49.67 percent
  • No, 1,620 votes, 50.33 percent

Mattawa Proposition No. 1:

  • Approved, 69 votes, 45.39 percent
  • Rejected, 83 votes, 54.61 percent

Soap Lake Proposition No. 1:

  • Yes, 276 votes, 48.34 percent
  • No, 295 votes, 51.66 percent

Wilson Creek Cemetery District No.1 Proposition No. 1:

  • Yes, 123 votes, 74.55 percent
  • No, 42 votes, 25.45 percent
