Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a report from Lake County authorities who advised that someone had allegedly been scamming people by asking for cash donations for a winter charity. The Lake County authorities believed the charity program only accepts coats, not cash. Flathead authorities found that the callers were legitimately asking for cash donations over the phone from a location in Kalispell.

A deputy took a report on U.S. 2 from a woman who said that someone had engraved a “W” on the side of her vehicle with a knife.

Someone told officers about odd objects allegedly being left at his or her daughter’s white cross that marks a fatality on a Montana highway.

A dirt bike was stolen from Montclair Drive after someone cut a lock to gain access to it.

A woman on River Place reported that it appeared her family’s medical shipment had been tampered with.

An Evergreen store reported that a fraudulent check had been written.

Someone called to report a woman allegedly having her face smashed into the side of a building and being thrown around by a man in a store parking lot. The woman was allegedly screaming that she was pregnant. Store staff called and advised that the woman was a shoplifter. The woman was taken to jail for a book and release. She refused medical services.

A woman called from Poplar Drive to report that his or her cat had been shot with a .22 by an unknown suspect. The cat had to be taken to the vet.

Officers were unable to locate a caller after the 100th 911 hang-up call from a deactivated cell number. The call did give out a GPS position that deputies checked out.

Whitefish Police took a report from a man who complained about the city towing his van from the softball field. The man threatened to sue the city and police department, though the officer advised that because a tent was found he might have been in violation of a city ordinance against camping on certain premises and another ordinance prohibiting people from storing vehicles on the public property.

Columbia Falls Police took a report from Crescent Drive, where some streetlights had been shot out.

A woman reported that she had lost a black pouch with three thumb drives, in case anyone turned it in.

Someone stole a “shake a day” pot from a bar, but patrons were able to chase down the suspect and get the lost money back.

Kalispell Police heard from a woman on Liberty Street who had come into possession of a pigeon that appeared to be hurt. The animal control officer could not take the animal, but gave advice on what might be done with the bird.

A young child was released to a family member after the child allegedly was observed biting and kicking a bus driver.

A man told an officer that he was practicing parkour after someone called concerned about him jumping from track to track on the railway for no apparent reason.

A person was counseled about how to handle threatening text messages he or she had been receiving.
