The Flathead Fusion 19U girls hockey team split four games at a tournament in Butte over the weekend.

The Fusion won the first game against Butte in a high-scoring 8-6 battle. Amelia Hanko led the team with four goals, and Finley McCarthy, Rozsa Csaplar, Aaris Hill and Gretta Roberts each added a goal too.

In the second game, Flathead took down Bozeman, the defending state champions, 4-3 behind three goals from Hanko and one from Csaplar. Flathead outshot Bozeman 52-10 and goalie Oriana Barber Castro had seven saves.

The hot start to the tournament soon fizzled a bit, and the Fusion dropped their final two games to Glasgow and Missoula 0-7 and 0-3. Barber Castro had 32 saves against Glasgow.

The Flathead Fusion is a girls age 19 and under team comprised of players from Whitefish and Kalispell. Their next tournament will be on Dec. 2-4 in Bozeman.
