Over the summer, St. Regis School converted the old bus barn into a weight room which is available for community use. It comes complete with weights, tread machines and exercise bikes. Todd Fischer will be the facility manager and the hours will be 6:45 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
Children under age 14 are not allowed and supervision is required for those ages 14 to 18. Patrons are also asked to bring their own towels.
“The weight room is an example of how the district tries to give back to the community,” said Steele last summer. “While the new room will benefit our students and athletes, it will also provide opportunity for the community. Like the gymnastics program, Oula, and computer classes offered at the school, the weight room will provide another benefit to the district’s patrons and community members.”
