Micro-needling is the hottest new trend in skin rejuvenation. It can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, minimize photo aging and it improves overall skin quality. Micro-needling in an aesthetic procedure that works by creating many micro channels in the skin. This controlled micro-injury creates minimal damage to the epidermis resulting in limited downtime.

After the micro injuries are produced in the skin, a cascade of events occur: First the inflammation process, which produces redness, mild swelling, and mild tenderness lasting for less than 24 hours. Then the body begins to repair itself through the release of glycoproteins, growth factors, and the proliferation of fibroblasts. Lastly, the tissue begins to remodel with the increase of surrounding collagen resulting in increased tissue integrity and thickening of the epidermal layer. Studies have shown that these micro-channels are completely healed in less than 24 hours

Treatment is most commonly performed on the face, but can also be done on the neck and decolletage. A typical appointment lasts 30 minutes — 1 hour and includes a topical lidocaine to prep and numb the skin, making treatment painless and easy. Most patients will see a difference after their first treatment, but we recommend a series of 3-6 to maximize benefits. The collagen induction benefits last a minimum of 6 months post procedure with results being long term.
