A Kalispell woman was arrested last week on a $15,000 warrant for allegedly passing counterfeit bills at several locations in the Flathead Valley.

Candace Corwin, 20, was charged with felony forgery, a common scheme in Flathead District Court Nov. 18.

According to court documents, Corwin allegedly paid for a delivery from Rosa’s Pizza in Bigfork on Jan. 1 with three $20 bills and two $10 bills that were determined to have been counterfeit.

The investigating sheriff’s deputy learned that earlier that day Corwin had come into contact with a Kalispell Police officer who was investigating a claim that she had allegedly passed a fake $20 bill at a Town Pump in Kalispell. The Kalispell Police also found that another call had come in from Town Pump in Evergreen that day, and Corwin was allegedly caught on camera passing a fake $20 bill.

Corwin’s mother called authorities on Jan. 5, after she allegedly found one-side $20 bills in a room her daughter had recently stayed in.

An arraignment date was not immediately available.
