SPOKANE — Jaret Anderson-Dolan’s second goal of the night pulled the Spokane Chiefs within one goal, but the Chiefs lost 6-5 to the Edmonton Oil Kings in Western Hockey League play in front of 6,258 at Spokane Arena on Saturday, snapping a two-game win streak.

Spokane (10-9-4-1, 25 points) is now 1-3 against the Central Division and is tied for fourth in the U.S. Division with Portland.

Spokane led 2-1 after the first period. Taylor Ross got the scoring for the Chiefs started with his second goal in as many games and then Anderson-Dolan scored late in the first to give the Chiefs the lead, his first of two goals on the night.

Edmonton tied it at 2 just 2 minutes, 30 seconds into the second period. Spokane came back 31 seconds later to take the lead on a Keanu Yamamoto goal.

Hudson Elynuik scored a short-handed goal in the second straight game, which gave Spokane a 4-2 lead midway through the second period. Edmonton scored two goals in the final 2:50 of the second period to tie the game at 4 after two periods.

The Oil Kings scored two goals in a 1-minute, 16-second span early in the third period to take a 6-4 lead. But Anderson-Dolan scored his second of the night on a power-play goal midway through the third to bring the Chiefs within one.

Spokane hosts Portland on Wednesday night at 7:05.
